You now have no excuse not to. The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition is $2.49 on Steam, today only. $2.49! That is chump change. Especially for one of the greatest adventure games of all time. Buy it.
P.S. Hopefully this is the last post about deals for a while.

I would consider $2.50 “nearly free”, as that is the price that Steam is offering Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for for the next 19 hours from the time of this posting. If for some inexplainable reason you have never played this masterpiece, you now have no excuse not to buy it. Hell, I already own the CD version and I’m thinking about picking it up just for the convenience of Steam.

Moving forward with their announced plans to release more of their back catalog of PC games to online distribution systems, LucasArts has now made the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic available for purchase on Direct2Drive and Steam. So if you haven’t yet had the opportunity to play the first Star Wars computer RPG or your original KOTOR discs were lost/stolen/scratched beyond repair/eaten by your pet kath hound then all you need is about $10 dollars and the 2003 RPG of the year is yours for the playing.

Another suggestive message via the @LucasArts twitter feed today, implying that we’ll see The Secret of Monkey Island : Special Edition as an iPhone release shortly.
“@lucasartsgames – For our Monkey fans – an iPhone sized wallpaper. No reason. Wink wink nod nod.”
The lovely LucasArts rep who has been updating the twitter feed has also been giving out codes for free steam games, so keep your eyes on that! You have to be quick though. Someone generally works out the missing letter within 2 minutes!
