What looked to have been the most promising game from Lucasarts seems to have fallen a little short of “classic” status with sub-par gameplay.
Some of the biggest complaints have been surrounding the game’s sometimes outrageous difficulty, immovable camera, and the lack of depth and length of the adventure.

According to the LucasArts Workshop blog, Lucidity now has a price, and that price is $9.99 or 800 MSpoints. Seems pretty consistent with their pricing when compared to The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition.
There’s also a nice trailer up for the game which you can watch below or in HD at Gametrailers.

Above is gameplay footage direct from Lucidity, LucasArts’ newly announced puzzle platformer game. It’s much easier to watch gameplay footage than to describe how this game plays, so definitely give it a watch.

Tonight on Gametrailers TV, LucasArts officially revealed Lucidty, their upcoming original puzzle platformer title to be released on Xbox Live Arcade later this month. The game is described as a puzzle platformer because it looks like a traditional 2D platformer, but you do not directly control the main character, Sofi. Instead, you facilitate her moving through the world by adding objects that she can use to keep moving. Sofi keeps walking regardless of whether you have added objects to the environment or not. Further proving that LucasArts is mere days away from announcing Lucidity, a supposed internally developed puzzle game for Xbox Live Arcade, the game’s achievements have been added to Xbox360Achievements.org. Achievements include beating each act of the game and collecting certain objects, among others. Look forward to LucasArts’ apparent announcement of the game this coming Thursday.

Remember that upcoming announcement LucasArts has for a new internally developed IP? Well that is looking more and more to be Lucidity as LucasArts has dropped us hints in the form of what appears to be a character from the game added to several photos from Penny Arcade Expo, holding a different puzzle piece in each photo. You can see one photo on the LucasArts Workshop blog, and spiralout on LucasForums has uncovered several other uploaded photos. Combine the puzzle pieces and you have what looks like a scene from the game. Now do the math on how likely it is that this is their upcoming announcement.

Once again making use of their Twitter feed, LucasArts announces that they will have an announcement to make September 10 on GameTrailers regarding a new internal LucasArts IP.
“Our Prez just Finished an interview w/ @Gametrailers. Discussed new internal LucasArts IP. Tune in Sept 10 to hear whats up!”
Will this be the announcement of Lucidity that many have been expecting for a while now, or something we know nothing about? Mark your calendars for September 10th to find out, or just come back to LucasNews where we will have the latest on the announcement.
