I would consider $2.50 “nearly free”, as that is the price that Steam is offering Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for for the next 19 hours from the time of this posting. If for some inexplainable reason you have never played this masterpiece, you now have no excuse not to buy it. Hell, I already own the CD version and I’m thinking about picking it up just for the convenience of Steam.

KOTOR_box_artMoving forward with their announced plans to release more of their back catalog of PC games to online distribution systems, LucasArts has now made the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic available for purchase on Direct2Drive and Steam. So if you haven’t yet had the opportunity to play the first Star Wars computer RPG or your original KOTOR discs were lost/stolen/scratched beyond repair/eaten by your pet kath hound then all you need is about $10 dollars and the 2003 RPG of the year is yours for the playing.
