Star Wars Trench Run provides players with the opportunity to experience the excitement of one of the signature scenes from Star Wars Episode IV on their iPhone. The game begins with a short video clip from Star Wars Episode IV of Luke Skywalker and other X-Wing pilots preparing for the trench run to destroy the Death Star. Additional video and audio clips from Star Wars Episode IV are spread throughout the game and the classical musical soundtrack and sound effects are also borrowed from Star Wars Episode IV. Star Wars: Trench Run Coming to the App Store

By Jeff at 10:53am on October 26th, 2009 | 2 Comments

trenchrun_imgStar Wars: Trench Run was recently announced for the iPhone and iPod Touch and puts you in the cockpit of an X-Wing during (arguably) the most iconic sequence in the Star Wars trilogy. The game will use motion controls to fly your X-Wing across the surface of the Death Star, leading up to the player being able to use the Force to slow down the action and nail the shot to crush the Empire. The game is being developed by Infrared5 and distributed by THQ Wireless Inc. and should be appearing on the App Store very soon. Check out StarWars.com for the full list of features.

Monkey Island going strong on iPhone

By leXX at 2:37pm on July 29th, 2009 | 3 Comments

Monkey Island on iPhoneThe Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition is continuing to do extremely well on the iPhone App Store, and has consistently remained in the Top 5 since it’s release, which for a game priced at £4.99 is no mean feat. The overall majority of reviews are very favourable, saying it’s a great port, with the only complaint being a control issue that is taking some people some time to get used to, but others have no issue with control at all. People are crying out for more of the same, and are hoping that the rest of the series is remade and released on iPhone too. Veterans of the series and newcommers alike are finding the experience of carrying around Monkey Island in their pockets an enjoyable one.

With this success, does this mean LucasArts will be releasing more of their treasured adventure games on iPhone? Will we be seeing a Day of the Tentacle port in the near future? Only time will tell, but hopefully the success of Monkey Island can only mean good things ahead for LucasArts adventure game fans.

Monkey Island Special Edition Confirmed for iPhone [Update]

By Jeff at 10:29pm on July 19th, 2009 | 1 Comment

monkey-iphone Update: The game has been confirmed by LucasArts and added to the app store. Go check it out for yourself!

After much speculation and hint-dropping by LucasArts about bringing Monkey Island to iPhone, confirmation has been found in the form of a Google advertisement that The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition will be brought to the iPhone App Store. Apple policy prevents developers from announcing titles until they are released, and no official LucasArts announcement has been made, but this is as close to confirmation as you can get, especially after LucasArts president Darrel Rodriguez as well as the official LucasArts twitter feed gave us the old “wink wink nod nod” on whether we’d see an iPhone release. From checking the App Store on my iPod Touch, the game does not appear to have been added yet, but I think we can expect an announcement from LucasArts as soon as tomorrow or perhaps later this week at Comic-Con.

Secret of Monkey Island on your iPhone? Also, free games!

iphoneMIAnother suggestive message via the @LucasArts twitter feed today, implying that we’ll see The Secret of Monkey Island : Special Edition as an iPhone release shortly.

“@lucasartsgames – For our Monkey fans – an iPhone sized wallpaper. No reason. Wink wink nod nod.”

The lovely LucasArts rep who has been updating the twitter feed has also been giving out codes for free steam games, so keep your eyes on that! You have to be quick though. Someone generally works out the missing letter within 2 minutes!
