Star Wars: Trench Run Coming to the App Store

By Jeff Moeller at 10:53am on October 26th, 2009 | 2 Comments

trenchrun_imgStar Wars: Trench Run was recently announced for the iPhone and iPod Touch and puts you in the cockpit of an X-Wing during (arguably) the most iconic sequence in the Star Wars trilogy. The game will use motion controls to fly your X-Wing across the surface of the Death Star, leading up to the player being able to use the Force to slow down the action and nail the shot to crush the Empire. The game is being developed by Infrared5 and distributed by THQ Wireless Inc. and should be appearing on the App Store very soon. Check out StarWars.com for the full list of features.

Battlefront: Elite Squadron Previews Abound

By Jeff Moeller at 11:22am on October 18th, 2009 | Comment

ackbarIGN recently got some hands on time with the PSP version of Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron at a recent press event. The preview details the multiplayer modes of the game, in which up to 16 players can play as Clones, CIS, Imperials, or Rebels. As previously noted, seamless transitions between ground and space battles is one of the main attractions of this title and it is no different for the multiplayer. You can choose to start out in a cruiser as a crewman, out in space in a fighter, or on the ground as infantry. However you will most likely have to move between each area to accomplish your objectives.

Kotaku attended presumably the same event and also wrote their thoughts on the multiplayer, also for the PSP version. There are several things noted that the author did not like about the game, most notably some control issues. Overall though it was a very positive preview.

Look forward to Elite Squadron hitting shelves for PSP and Nintendo DS November 3rd.

Lucasarts has released a “webdoc” showing all of the different features that will be included in Lego Indiana Jones 2’s “Builder” feature.  Finally, gamers will be able to do what every Lego fan has always loved to do: build whatever they want.  While non-PC level editors can sometimes be rather limited, there seems to be quite a bit of customization available for the user to tinker with.

Lucidity Receives Lukewarm Reviews

By urluckyday at 11:32am on October 15th, 2009 | 4 Comments

lucidity1What looked to have been the most promising game from Lucasarts seems to have fallen a little short of “classic” status with sub-par gameplay.

Some of the biggest complaints have been surrounding the game’s sometimes outrageous difficulty, immovable camera, and the lack of depth and length of the adventure.

Look for a lot of mixed reviews as more come out.

The Force Is Weak With This One

The reviews have started coming in for Clone Wars: Republic Heroes, and as expected (if the demo was anything to go by) they are very bad. Gametrailers have given it a 4.5, and it has recieved pretty much the same score across the board. Check out the video review, and prepare to cringe like me at the words “sky guy” and “snips”. *shudders*
