LucasArts are hyping up their appearance at this year’s Comic-Con, saying they will be making “several world exclusive announcements” next Friday. The announcements will be made during the Star Wars Spectacular keynote. So expect a new Star Wars game to be announced!
LucasArts will also be showing off some of their upcoming games, including Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes, LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues, and Star Wars: The Old Republic, which will feature a “making of” panel at the show. You may or may not be able to expect coverage from the show on this site.

Having played only a few adventure games in my life, I wondered what all the fuss about the LucasArts adventure games was. Being a member of LucasForums, you constantly read how the Monkey Island games are not to be missed, and they appear in many a top ten list of games. When I heard The Secret of Monkey Island was being released as a special edition, I was glad, not only because I thought it would be great for the long time fans of the series, but because now I would finally play it. Another suggestive message via the @LucasArts twitter feed today, implying that we’ll see The Secret of Monkey Island : Special Edition as an iPhone release shortly.
“@lucasartsgames – For our Monkey fans – an iPhone sized wallpaper. No reason. Wink wink nod nod.”
The lovely LucasArts rep who has been updating the twitter feed has also been giving out codes for free steam games, so keep your eyes on that! You have to be quick though. Someone generally works out the missing letter within 2 minutes!

As promised 2 days ago via the @lucasartsgames twitter feed, the first 10 of the LucasArts “Classics” collection has been released on Steam, ranging from old-school adventure games such as Loom, through to newer releases like Star Wars: Battlefront 2.
The games are very reasonably priced, ranging from $4.99 to $19.99, so if you never had a chance to play some of the original LucasArts adventure games or even the newer releases that slipped you by, this is your chance.
Here’s an excerpt from the press release which surfaced earlier this week. Read more »

Tales of Monkey Island is the revival of a series that has been dormant for almost 10 years. And a worthy successor it is. The pairing of LucasArts and Telltale is one from heaven and it seems LucasArts has finally learned to give fans what they want.
The game is set after the nonexistent Monkey Island 5. Chapter 1: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal takes off with Guybrush seemingly coming to the close of an adventure, about to defeat LeChuck and take back Elaine. But in typical Guybrush fashion, something goes wrong which sends him on a completely new adventure: to rescue Elaine and stop LeChuck. Wait, hasn’t he done this one before? Well in this case you can’t have too much of a good thing. After the prologue, Guybrush washes up on Flotsam island to find himself with no way off. Thus starts our epic tale of piratey goodness.
