Star Wars Shadow of the EmpireThere are a multitude of games available on the Wii’s Virtual Console, but as of yet no LucasArts games have been released on the service. Well that could change soon according to LucasArts Vice President of Global Publishing, Mary Bihr.

Speaking to Mixnmojo, Bihr talks about the power of digital distribution and LucasArts’ goal to “be a leading publisher across the full spectrum of digital pipelines.” Along with releasing The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition on PC and Xbox Live Arcade, LucasArts has also re-released several of its classic adventure games on Steam along with some newer PC titles.

Mojo presses on, asking whether LucasArts has plans to release games on the Virtual Console following this support of classic LucasArts games, suggesting Zombies Ate My Neighbors on the SNES, Maniac Mansion on the NES, and Shadows of the Empire on the N64.

“Nintendo’s Virtual Console system includes a population of nostalgic gamers that we hope will enjoy our Heritage games at some point, and we will continue to explore these opportunities,” responds Bihr.

So this is by no means a confirmation, but it certainly tells us that LucasArts is exploring the possibility. Make sure to read the full interview at Mixnmojo.
